Get to know Internist Dr. Pshtiwan Tahir, who serves patients throughout the State of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Tahir is board-certified internist who possesses expertise in diagnosing and treating an extensive spectrum of diseases and illnesses in adult patients.

Having obtained a medical license in Pennsylvania, he maintains affiliations with WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, and WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital.

Educated in Iraq, Dr. Tahir graduated with his medical degree from the Mosul Medical College of the University of Mosul in 1993. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at Capital Health Regional Medical Center from 2006 until 2009.

Board-certified in internal medicine, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

On a more personal note, Dr. Tahir speaks several languages, including English, Arabic, Kurdish, and Swedish.
