Graduating from Duke University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science, Dr. Kantor went to work for Zimmer Orthopedics, designing hip and knee replacements with a focus on surgical instrumentation before going on to medical school.

After completing his medical studies at Albany Medical College, he performed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and a year fellowship in joint replacement surgery in San Diego. He also completed a sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University, spending one year with the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants.

An esteemed member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Kantor is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
