Get to know Internist Dr. Julie C. Bevan, who serves patients in San Diego, California.

As an internist, Dr. Bevan practices the full spectrum of internal medicine, which is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. She maintains a special interest in skin conditions and skin care, as well as remains committed to providing her patients with excellent health care.

Dr. Bevan currently serves patients at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo, a medical clinic in San Diego, California. Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo provides expert specialty and primary care services for the whole family. Same-day, walk-in care is available for common illnesses and injuries at Scripps HealthExpress and Scripps HealthExpress pediatrics. Furthermore, Dr. Bevan is affiliated with several hospitals in the area, including Pomerado Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, and Scripps Green Hospital.

Prior to completing her medical training, Dr. Bevan studied biology and sociology at the University of California in San Diego. She received her medical degree in 1998 from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, after which she went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley.

Dr. Bevan is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Certification by the organization has meant that internists have demonstrated – to their peers and to the public – that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care.

Throughout her career, Dr. Bevan has received many honors and awards, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition, the Patient’s Choice Award, the Top Ten Doctor award, and the On Time Doctor Award. She was also selected as a “Doctor of Excellence” by the Board of Leaders in Healthcare Network.

In her spare time, Dr. Bevan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, traveling, and reading.
