A graduate of Howard University College of Medicine, he went on to complete his internship at St. Louis University Hospital and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at WellSpan York Hospital. Wanting to further his education, he completed his fellowship training at the Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.

Among the doctor’s most notable achievements, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the American Urogynecologic Society.

Urogynecology is a subspecialty of gynecology, and in some countries is also known as female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. A urogynecologist manages clinical problems associated with dysfunction of the pelvic floor and bladder. Pelvic floor disorders affect the bladder, reproductive organs, and bowels.
