Celebrating a Decade of Service at Codman Square Health Center in Wellness, Leadership, and Advocacy

Dorchester, Massachusetts – Codman Square Health Center is proud to spotlight Genevieve Daftary, MD, MPH, FAAP, as the Medical Director of School and Early Childhood Partnerships. A dedicated pediatrician with a passion for community health, Dr. Daftary has been an integral part of the Codman team since she joined as a member of the inaugural class of Kraft Fellows in Community Health Leadership in 2012.

Located in the heart of Dorchester, Codman Square Health Center is a leading community-focused outpatient healthcare and multi-service center. The center provides comprehensive care for families, offering a wide array of services, including primary care, eye and dental services, urgent care, behavioral health support, and various medical specialties. In addition to medical services, Codman Square Health Center emphasizes wellness and financial programs that cater to the overall well-being of the community.

Dr. Daftary’s commitment to the intersection of health and education is evident in her work. She focuses on empowering adolescents and young adults to engage as leaders and advocates within their communities. Her clinical interests span a range of critical areas, including the health of newborns, behavioral health, obesity management, and addressing developmental challenges.

Dr. Daftary’s educational background is as impressive as her professional accomplishments. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University in 2001, followed by a Master of Public Health Degree from the prestigious Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2007. She then obtained her Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School in 2008, after which she completed her residency in pediatrics at Mass General for Children, culminating in 2012. 

Dr. Daftary is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Additionally, her commitment to the medical community is reflected in her membership with both the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.

Codman Square Health Center is honored to have Dr. Genevieve Daftary leading efforts in pediatric medicine and education, furthering its mission to provide quality healthcare to the Dorchester community.
