She treats conditions such as disorder of calcium metabolism, type 2 diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, growth disorder, and obesity.

In her current capacity, she serves as the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program & the Director of the POWER Program for Overweight Education and Reduction at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian in New York City, New York.

Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Fennoy serves as a Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She has focused much of her research on the comorbidities identified in morbidly obese children and adolescents, as well as the impact bariatric surgery has on these problems. In addition, she has been involved in a school-based study to evaluate the impact of a nutrition education curriculum and exercise program on the changes in insulin resistance in middle school children.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Fennoy earned her medical degree from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine in 1973. Her pediatric training was done within the Department of Social Pediatrics at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, New York. This was followed by nutrition training at the Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University, and pediatric endocrine training with the Pediatric Medicine Branch of the National Institute of Child Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.

The doctor is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. Her research interests include childhood obesity, bone health, and Klinefelter syndrome.

To advance her professional efforts, she remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (Fellow), the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (Fellow), the New York Academy of Medicine, and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
