Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Mitchell G. Greenbaum, who serves patients in Oregon, Ohio.

Dr. Greenbaum is a respected obstetrician-gynecologist serving as the Chief of OB/GYN at Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. He sees various patient groups, including teenagers, adults, and geriatrics. 

“My passion is driven by the bonds I build with my patients over the course of their lives, while delivering their children and now their children’s children” expressed the doctor. 

In affiliation with Mercy Health, he holds privileges at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center & Mercy Health – Maumee Bay Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991, Dr. Greenbaum went on to further his education. In doing so, he completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills in 1992 and 1995, respectively. 

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.

Bringing leadership, clinical experience, and passion to his role in medical education, Dr. Greenbaum is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG). The AOBOG is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) who specialize in the care of the female reproductive tract and children during the course of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period (obstetricians) and to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive tract (gynecologists).

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
