A native of Czechoslovakia, Dr. Swaim graduated with her medical degree from the Comenius University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. After practicing medicine there for a year, she made the transition to the American medical system in Charlotte in 1999. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Carolinas Medical Center in 2003.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
