Get to know Internist Dr. Shawna L. DeGraff-Roberson, who serves patients in Arvada, Colorado.

A practicing internist, Dr. DeGraff-Roberson works with patients at the Family Health Care Center in Arvada, Colorado. She is proficient in acupuncture and prolotherapy along with ultrasound guided injections, and is an expert in non-surgical orthopedics.

Family Health Care Center is a family practice established in 1987. Treating patients of all ages, their mission is to assist patients in achieving optimal health with their knowledge and skills, utilizing the body’s inherent ability to heal.

Upon completion of her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and Master of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Northern Colorado, Dr. DeGraff-Roberson went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She then went on to finish her residency in internal medicine at Broward General Medical Center, and her fellowship in osteopathic manipulative treatment at Larkin Community Hospital.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Furthermore, she is board-certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine (NMM/OMM) by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

On a professional level, Dr. DeGraff-Roberson is a proud member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Osteopathic Internal Medicine, the Florida Medical Association, and the Cranial Academy.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

On a more personal note, Dr. DeGraff-Roberson is married to her husband, Greg. She is a Colorado native who enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and other outdoor activities.
