“The birth of your child is invariably the best day of your life, and I’m excited that I get to be a part of that! If your condition requires surgery, I will explain everything so that it doesn’t sound like rocket science. I will draw you pictures. I will give you ALL of the options but also let you know what I think would be the best choice and why. The decision is yours. No woman is the same at 18, 26, 35, 49, 62 or 80. Our hormones, body appearance, and responses won’t be the same over time either.”, says Dr. Oliver on the website of Women’s Health Texas.

After graduating with an undergraduate degree in biology from University of Texas at Austin in 1993, Dr. Oliver enrolled in medical school at UT Southwestern and graduated in 1997 with her medical degree. After serving her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Methodist Hospitals of Dallas (1997 – 2001), she completed four years in the Air Force in Dover, Delaware, which allowed her to pay for four years of medical school.

Dr. Oliver received her board-certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Outside her professional commitments, she enjoys time with her two children, and her two labradors. She also loves rock climbing, hiking, camping, reading, and wishes that she could actually enjoy running. Dr. Oliver is happily addicted to caffeine and she feels very strongly that coffee is the most divine substance (other than bacon!) in the whole world.

Dr. Oliver is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). Furthermore, she was named among Austin’s Top Doctors for Women by Austin Monthly magazine.
