Board Certified Otolaryngologist Dr. Plosky currently practices with Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeons of Western New England, LLC. Dr. Plosky graduated with his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School in 2004, giving him over a decade of experience in his field. After obtaining his medical degree he completed his Otolaryngology residency with Yale-New Haven Medical Center. Dr. Plosky is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is a founding member of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Established in 1933, ABMS, a not-for-profit organization comprising 24 medical specialty Member Boards, is the organization overseeing the certification of physician specialists in the United States. The primary function of ABMS is to assist its Member Boards in developing and implementing educational and professional standards to evaluate and certify physician specialists.

Otolaryngology is a medical specialty focused on the ears, nose, and throat. It is also called otolaryngology-head and neck surgery because specialists are trained in both medicine and surgery.  An otolaryngologist is often called an ear, nose, and throat doctor, or an ENT for short. This medical specialty dates back to the 19th century, when doctors recognized that the head and neck contained a series of interconnected systems. They developed techniques and tools for examining and treating problems of the head and neck, eventually forming a medical specialty.
