Get to know Otolaryngologist Dr. Sadruddin Hemani, who serves patients in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Dr. Hemani is a board-certified otolaryngologist with more than 40 years of experience treating ear, nose and throat disorders, as well as allergy and asthma patients. He currently serves patients at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

A native of India, Dr. Hemani graduated with his medical degree from the University of Mumbai Seth GS Medical College in 1965. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship at Norwalk Hospital, and his residency in otolaryngology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then went on to complete two consecutive fellowships in head and neck surgery and allergy & immunology at the Roosevelt Hospital and Northwestern University.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, which is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the New England Otolaryngological Society, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Hemani is a part of Flying Doctors of America, going to countries and setting up clinics with other medical professionals to treat underprivileged patients. So far, he has helped patients in Peru, Jordan, Madagascar, Fiji and Honduras.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Pediatric otolaryngologists are primarily concerned with medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat diseases in children. They generally provide the following services: diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat disorders, as well as head and neck diseases.

On a more personal note, he attributes his success to the rewarding feeling he gets when he sees a patient healthy and when a patient thanks him. In his free time, he enjoys mountain hiking, and cross country bicycling.
