Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Daniel H. Cohen, who serves patients in Hewlett, New York.

As a board-certified rheumatologist, Dr. Cohen is recognized for being among the first rheumatologists on Long Island to bring bone densitometry for diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. He is a part of the staff at Rheumatology Consultants, LLP in Hewlett, New York. 

Rheumatology Consultants, LLP is a practice consisting of a dedicated team of physicians who provide comprehensive non-surgical diagnosis and treatment of rheumatism, osteoporosis, as well as musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases. 

Early in his career, Dr. Cohen earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1978. He was the winner of the Samuel Spiegel Prize for Distinguished Student in Internal Medicine at NYU. He then went on to complete his medical residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, followed by his fellowship in rheumatology at New York University Medical Center.

A member of the American College of Rheumatology and a recognized expert in amyloidosis and familial Mediterranean fever, Dr. Cohen is board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Having acquired over thirty years of experience in the industry throughout his career, Dr. Cohen is known for his ability to connect empathetically and warmly with his patients. He believes imperfect medicine without trust is worse than no medical care. He is the winner of the Castle Connolly Top Doctors Award from 2002-2008 and 2010-2015. This award is given to doctors in the New York Metro Area who are highly recommended by their peers and other healthcare professionals.
