Get to know Internist Dr. Sarah Garner, who serves the Des Moines, Iowa area at her private practice and several local hospitals.

Specializing in internal medicine, Dr. Garner performs physical exams and treats a wide spectrum of common illnesses in adults. She holds specialized training and interest in practicing LGBTQ health and women’s health. Dr. Garner has completed training in CMS Stage 1, which allows her to dedicate more of her valuable time to her patients.

Dr. Garner earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She continued her studies with a residency in internal medicine with the University of Iowa – Des Moines Internal Medicine Residency Program. She has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and holds an Iowa state medical license through 2020.

Dr. Garner has furthered the field of internal medicine by conducting research and publishing her findings in prestigious medical journals. Her work can be found in QJM: An International Journal of Medicine. Dr. Garner stays current in her field through her memberships in distinguished medical organizations and is a proponent of lifelong learning.
