Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Sylvia Irizarry, who serves patients in Blue Island, Illinois. 

Dr. Irizarry is a pediatrician serving Blue Island and the surrounding communities. She is affiliated with DuPage Medical Group – a medical group offering access to new resources and technology, with doctors in over 50 practice specialties at over 100 locations. 

In 1992 Dr. Irizarry earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, giving her over two decades of experience in her field. She went on to complete an internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center in pediatrics. 

To stay up to date in her field, Dr. Irizarry is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The AAP is an organization of 67,000 pediatricians committed to the optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Irizarry diagnoses and treats infections, injuries, diseases and other disorders in children. 

With over 24 years of experience in the field, Dr. Irizarry has treated thousands of patients. She was recognized and awarded the Petierre Award in 2000.
