Get to know Internist and Hospice & Palliative Care Specialist Dr. Wesam Aziz, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

A top professional in the field of internal medicine and hospice & palliative care, Dr. Aziz is the Founder and President of Apex Medical Management.

In regards to his educational background, he obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico in 2007, and earned his MD Fifth Pathway Certificate from the New York Medical College in 2008. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hospice & palliative medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine & hospice & palliative medicine  through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Aziz is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the Society of Hospital Medicine, as well as the Texas Medical Association.

As an internal medicine specialist, Dr. Aziz works and manages a hospitalist group ApexMed, PLLC that serves patients in the greater San Antonio area. Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.

As a hospice and palliative specialist, Dr. Aziz works and manages a palliative care group ApexCare, PLLC that serves patients in the greater San Antonio area. Hospice and palliative medicine is a formal subspecialty of medicine in the United States that focuses on symptom management, relief of suffering, and end-of-life care. Hospice and palliative medicine specialists are medical doctors who help prevent and relieve suffering of patients who have a serious illness or who have only a short time left to live. They work with a team of other professionals to address the needs of both the patient and loved ones.

As founder and president of ApexMedicalManagement, PLLC, Dr. Aziz and his team help medical practices with billing, productivity, and financial solutions.

Speaking several languages, Dr. Aziz is fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
