  • Temporary blindness for 7mins

Hello. This seems like a serious symptom. We call this amarosis fugax. This can be a sign of many things but most worrisome would be a blockage of an artery in your eye or some other interruption in blood flow to your eye. This can be easily seen by an ophthalmologist on exam or even a retinal specialist. I would recommend getting an evaluation as soon as possible. READ MORE

Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Jake J. Trinidad, who serves patients in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Trinidad is an experienced ophthalmologist who has dedicated his career to serving his hometown community in San Antonio, Texas. He has worked tirelessly to establish himself in the area and, after being a part owner at his previous practice, he decided to strike out on his own to create a patient and staff-oriented healthcare environment that puts people first.

He and his staff at Trinidad Vision are committed to treating each patient with respect, honesty, and personalized care. What sets him apart from other ophthalmologists in the area is his commitment to using the newest state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.

On the cutting edge of cataract surgery, Dr. Trinidad is one of the few ophthalmologists in San Antonio to offer the innovative technology of Light Adjustable Lenses as an option for cataract correction surgery. This allows him to make adjustments post-surgery to perfect each patient’s vision to their individual needs.

As a multigenerational native of San Antonio, Dr. Trinidad has a deep passion for taking care of the people in his community and providing them with the best possible healthcare experience. He graduated from Clark High School, before putting himself through college at Trinity University and UIW and attending medical school at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Following the completion of his residency in ophthalmology in Indiana, he returned to San Antonio with his family to begin his career.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

An avid weightlifter, Dr. Trinidad is a believer in physical fitness. He enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in outdoor activities, and traveling. He is also a devoted fan of the Spurs and Cowboys, two of San Antonio’s favorite sports teams.

On a more personal note, he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
