Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Saima Sabah, who serves patients in Illinois.

Board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Sabah is affiliated with Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is a 333-bed community hospital, operating the only Level I trauma center in the county of DuPage, and is a part of Advocate Health Care. 

In addition, Dr. Sabah can be found on staff at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, a 390-bed hospital in Winfield, Illinois. It is one of seven hospitals operated by Northwestern Medicine.

After earning her medical degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, she went on to complete her internship at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, India. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Hines, Illinois. 

Thereafter, the doctor earned board-certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. 

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to diagnosing, preventing, and treating mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists, like Dr. Sabah, are medical doctors that evaluate patients to determine whether their symptoms are the result of a physical illness, a combination of physical and mental ailments, or strictly psychiatric. They are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems.
