  • How can I fix my vision with a thin retina?

Hello, I am sorry, but I am no sure what you mean. If you are asking if you have a thin cornea and can not have LASIK, you may be ok for PRK, or you may need o have orthokeratology. There are too many variables to answer simply and easily. If you really do mean a thin retina, that is a whole different story. A good eye doctor will be able to discuss options with you. You should see an eye doctor, Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. READ MORE

Each of these has plusses and minuses. The most important things are to make sure that there is at least equal outside time to screen time. READ MORE

  • Can I check my eyesight at home?

Yes you can, but it is not a substitute for an eye exam. Your distance vision can be checked, by printing out an eye chart, taping it to the wall and standing back the appropriate distance away from it, most are for 10 or 20 feet. But it has to be printed correctly. Then if you read a 20 foot letter, not 20 feet high its called a 20 foot letter, at 20 feet you see 20/20, if you read a 10 foot letter at 10 feet, it is 10/10 which is 20/20. If you read a 20 foot letter at 10 feet then it is 10/20 or 20/40. Top number is the testing distance, and the bottom is the calibrated letter. Bottom line, just because you may see 20/20 with each eye . real does not tell you if the eyes are healthy, work together properly or any of the other concerns. So consider going for an exam. Thats what is best for you. READ MORE

  • How soon after pregnancy can you get LASIK?

That is an interesting question. I would say you really do not want to be picking up anything heavier than 10 pounds for at least 2 weeks after LASIK.
