    How were you diagnosed with an ulcer? Did you get an EGD (the only way to really get an accurate diagnosis of an ulcer)? Also what else did the EGD find (bacterial infection, erosions, etc). Once you have that information then you will know how to treat it. READ MORE

  • Why do I have diarrhea after I eat?

    There are different types of diarrhea. So, it could be overflow diarrhea from constipation (which you treat by treating the constipation not the diarrhea) or it could be a problem with your gallbladder, or it could be an infection or multiple other causes of diarrhea.   • What can I do to relieve stomach pain?

    You need to find out what is the cause of the pain, then you will know how to treat it. Important clues would be, where the pain is, is it associated with food or bowel movements, are there other symptoms that accompany the pain.     You are most likely constipated. Treating your constipation will clear up your abdominal pain and your hemorrhoids. You should also get a colonoscopy if you haven’t had one yet. I would definitely f/u with your gastroenterologist. READ MORE

    You definitely need to get yourself cleaned out. You may want to start with an enema, then 2 bottles of magnesium citrate. I would take 1-2 doses of miralax everyday while on opioid medication. I would recommend you follow up with a GI doc. READ MORE

    It depends on where ur stomach hurts. Above or below the bellybutton. It could be an ulcer or constipation. I would recommend u see a GI doc to figure out what is causing ur pain. READ MORE

    Excessive gas is usually due to constipation. I would start with miralax 1-2 doses daily and if that doesn’t work, see a GI doc for further recommendations (ie tests for SIBO, etc). READ MORE

    The symptoms for a gallbladder problem and a stomach problem are very similar. I would see a gastroenterologist first before seeing a surgeon. It could be your stomach and you may not need to have it removed at all. READ MORE

    Yes, a colonoscopy is safe. There are risks involved everytime you go inside the human body (ie. infection, bleeding, reaction to meds they use to put you to sleep and even putting a hole or tear in the colon from the scope they use), however, all of these are very RARE.
