Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Mark Wiseman, who serves patients in Visalia, California.

Dr. Wiseman is an experienced, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who sees patients at Visalia OB-GYN Medical Associates in California. The practice provides obstetric, gynecologic, and wellness care for women of all ages.

A 1992 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, Dr. Wiseman went on to serve his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the same educational venue. 

Before long, he became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Additionally, he attained fellowship status with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. To become a fellow, a candidate must become certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, an independent organization, and then nominated to the College by another fellow.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
