Do varicose veins go away on their own?
Varicose veins do not go away on their own, unfortunately.Laser treatments are only effective for very small veins, and not effective for the veins that typically arise after pregnancy.I recommend a vein evaluation by a specialist near you. Jim READ MORE
What can happen if varicose veins are left untreated?
In some cases, one is just left with the existing veins and symptoms remain the same over time. In others, the veins enlarge and become more symptomatic (throbbing, aching, itching, etc). Evaluation with a vascular surgeon is very helpful to determine severity. READ MORE
What does laser treatment usually involve?

Can I get rid of spider veins without surgery?
There are laser treatments that can improve the appearance of spider veins, as well as injection sclerotherapy which is another non-surgical treatment. READ MORE
I notice that I have spider veins on my legs. How is this treated?
Injection sclerotherapy is most common, where a very small needle is inserted directly into the vein to deliver a medicine that injures the inner lining of the vein and then allows it to slowly collapse and disappear. It is not considered surgery. READ MORE
Do medicines help in treating varicose veins?
While surgery can be done to remove varicose veins (stripping, stab phlebectomy), office based treatments are more common, and involve much less invasive therapy, using small needles and catheters. My father has blood clots in his legs. What should be the course of treatment?
