Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Jose Jacob, who serves patients in Williamston, North Carolina.

Dr. Jacob is a respected invasive and interventional cardiologist who tends to patients at Williamston Heart & Vascular Center in Williamston, North Carolina.

There, he is available to diagnose and treat a variety of heart conditions. His goal is to help patients improve their cardiovascular health in an effort to avoid cardiovascular disease. And, if one is living with a heart condition or issue, he strives to get them back on track to a healthier future.

Likewise, the doctor diagnoses and treats the symptoms and underlying causes of vascular diseases such as peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, stroke, carotid artery disease, transient ischemic attacks, high blood pressure, varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and more. Regardless of the vascular condition suffered, he is a firm believer that early diagnosis and treatment prevent further complications. 

A 1983 graduate of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences in India, Dr. Jacob relocated to the United States to further his training. He performed his residency and fellowship at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, and an additional fellowship in cardiovascular disease at NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital.

With over three decades of experience in his field, he is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in his local area, including Martin General Hospital (serving as Chief of Staff), Vidant Medical Center, and Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Dr. Jacob is board-certified in internal medicine and adult cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
