Leading the Way in Medical-Assisted Treatment for Drug Addiction in Land O’ Lakes, Florida

Medical Wellness of Tampa, LLC is proud to announce Dr. Robert Fietsam, as the Medical Director of its innovative facility dedicated to the medical-assisted treatment of drug addiction. With a remarkable career spanning over a decade in addiction medicine, Dr. Fietsam has been providing compassionate care and effective treatment solutions since 2014.

With an academic journey that is nothing short of impressive, Dr. Fietsam graduated with high honors and high distinction from the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Following his time at General Motors Technical Center, where he worked as a chemist, he made the pivotal decision to pursue a career in medicine. He attended Wayne State University School of Medicine, culminating in 13 years of education and residency, during which he achieved dual board certification in general surgery and thoracic surgery.

Dr. Fietsam’s medical career began as an assistant consulting professor of Surgery at Duke University, where he practiced cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. His dedication to patient care and medical excellence has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Charles C. Guthrie Award from the Vascular Surgical Society and the Charles Johnston Award from the Detroit Surgical Association. In 2011, he was honored with induction into the Maquet Cardiovascular Beating Hall of Fame, a testament to his contributions to the field.

Dr. Fietsam is also a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and holds certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine, further solidifying his expertise in addiction treatment. His commitment to addressing the complexities of drug addiction has made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and families in the community.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Fietsam is a devoted family man. He is married to Jennifer and they are proud parents to seven children: Dominique, Desiree, Courtney, Mac, Elle, Paris, and Paige. 

As the Medical Director of Medical Wellness of Tampa, LLC, Dr. Fietsam continues to lead the charge in the fight against drug addiction, providing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment options tailored to the needs of each patient. His mission is to promote healing and recovery, fostering hope and resilience in individuals seeking a brighter future.
