Dr. Macaulay is a considerate family physician & occupational medicine physician serving as the owner & operator of Occupational Medicine Consultants in Englewood, Colorado. He can also be found on staff at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora.

Prior to his current endeavours, he served as an occupational physician with Denver Water, the owner / occupational medicine consultant with the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the Medical Director of Pinnacol Assurance, and the owner of Injury Care of Colorado.

Back in 1974, Dr. Macaulay obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then went on to complete his internship at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 1975, followed by his residency in family medicine at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in 1977.

With over four decades of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. He has served on numerous boards and professional societies throughout his medical career, including past member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and past President of the Rocky Mountain Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

Occupational medicine is the branch of medicine which is concerned with the maintenance of health in the workplace, including prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries, with secondary objectives of maintaining and increasing productivity and social adjustment in the workplace. Occupational medicine physicians diagnose, manage, and prevent disease that has been caused or exacerbated by workplace factors. They are concerned with all aspects of the effects of work on health and health on work.

On a more personal note, Dr. Macaulay is married with four children and runs a farm. He enjoys politics, philosophy, and theology.
