Dr. Hsu, a distinguished neurosurgeon at UTHealth Neurosciences–Texas Medical Center, is making significant strides in the treatment of brain tumors and metastases, cancer neurology, and the management of chemotherapy neurotoxicity. With a profound commitment to patient care, Dr. Hsu has established himself as a leader in his field, leveraging his extensive education and experience to improve outcomes for those facing neurological challenges.

Dr. Hsu’s academic journey began at Brown University, where he obtained both his undergraduate and medical degrees. His pursuit of excellence continued at the Hospital of St. Raphael at Yale University, where he was honored as Medical Intern of the Year in 1996. His residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York provided him with invaluable insights under the mentorship of renowned experts, further fueling his passion for neurology. 

His subsequent fellowship in neuro-oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center solidified his reputation as a pioneer in cancer neurology. There, he not only provided exceptional clinical care but also served as an Assistant Professor and Neurology Residency Program Director, shaping the next generation of neurologists.

Board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Hsu is dedicated to elevating the standards and advancing the science of neurological surgery. His passion for teaching is evident in his role as an Assistant Professor in the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School, where he inspires students and residents alike.

As a prolific researcher, Dr. Hsu has contributed extensively to the field, presenting at national conferences and publishing in esteemed journals. His recent work includes pioneering treatments for recurrent primary CNS lymphoma and glioblastoma multiforme, along with innovative intralumbar injections for cancer therapy.
