Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Xiaochun Zhang, who serves patients in Vienna, Virginia.

A knowledgeable rheumatologist, Dr. Zhang works with patients at her private practice in Vienna, Virginia. Her clinical interests include arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, and primary care.

A native of China, she earned her medical degree from the Third Military Medical University in 1983. After relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in rheumatology at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in 1996.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis.
