Dr. Seestedt Jr. is a valued neurologist at Neurology Center of Fairfax in Virginia, working at the offices in Fairfax, including Sleep Diagnostic and Treatment Center, and Reston.

Specializing in cerebrovascular disease, including acute stroke treatment and post stroke care, he treats patients with carotid stenosis, stroke, transient ischemic attack, vascular disease, headache, neck and back pain, neuropathy, numbness, memory loss including Alzheimer’s disease, as well as gait and balance disorders.

Graduating with his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Dr. Seestedt Jr. went on to earn his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College in 1993. He then performed his internship and residency in neurology at the said establishment, after which he completed his fellowship in cerebrovascular disease at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

A member of the American Academy of Neurology, he is a Diplomate of Neurology with added qualifications in Vascular Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. Neurologists are specialists who treat diseases of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Neurological conditions include epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), and Parkinson’s disease.

Among Dr. Seestedt Jr.’s various affiliations and awards include: 23rd Joseph Provenzano Memorial Lecture Award 2011 from the Inova Fairfax Department of Medicine; member of the Inova Fairfax Hospital Stroke Response Team; on the Cerebrovascular Quality Committee at Inova Fairfax Hospital; and Recognition as a Top Doctor ® in Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine.

Fluent in multiple languages, he speaks English, French, and German.
