Dr. Adibian's Expertise in Clinical Psychology and Extensive Background Set Her Apart in the Field
Dr. Sanaz Adibian, a distinguished psychologist with a post-doctorate in clinical psychology, has carved a niche for herself in the mental health sector through her unwavering dedication and exceptional skills. She embarked on her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the esteemed University of Houston. Subsequently, she pursued her master’s at the same institution, where she was recognized for her academic excellence by becoming a member of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society of Psychology. Her thirst for knowledge and passion for helping others led her to complete her PsyD. and post-doctorate at Argosy University, solidifying her expertise in the field.
With a rich and diverse background in working with clients from various cultural backgrounds and with a wide array of treatment needs, Dr. Adibian has honed her skills in conducting individual and couple's therapy and is a licensed hypnotherapist; she leverages innovative techniques to help her clients achieve mental well-being and personal growth. Dr. Adibian's holistic approach to treating bipolar and personality disorders sets her apart in the field of psychology. By addressing the interconnectedness of the mind and body, she provides her clients with comprehensive care that goes beyond traditional methods. In addition to her clinical practice, she shares her wealth of knowledge and expertise as a professor and Course Lead of Practicum training at Yorkville University, where she mentors future generations of psychologists. Her commitment to education and her innovative approach to mental health make her an invaluable asset to the academic community.
Furthermore, she has undertaken a three-decade journey to understand the self through self-reflection, research, and learning about ancient cultures, etymology, linguistics, and the origins of thoughts. This journey has led her to establish and write a new theory in psychology called Cognitive Transcendence. The model emphasizes mental freedom rather than coping, based on the premise that something will remain in the system as long as the system is hospitable to it. She has published three articles on the subject and is currently working on a book that will be completed next year.
Her students at Yorkville University, located in Canada, have embraced the discussion and created a community called the Society of Cognitive Philosophy. In addition, a subgroup of her students is also in the process of establishing the Cognitive Transcendence Foundation, where the teaching "Love is the answer, and everything else is a misunderstanding" can be echoed through the hearts of those who want to hear it.
When asked about the inspiration behind her drive, she explained that she learned curiosity, open-minded/heartedness, and the essence of love from the Sufi master Professor Nader Angha of the MTO Shahmaghsoudi School, known to his students as Hazrat Pir. It was her meeting with Hazrat Pir that sparked her deep yearning to answer the profound question, "Who am I?"
