Benjamin Teller, OD, a world-renowned optometrist and co-founder of Eye RX, is continuing the legacy of exceptional eye care that he established alongside his late business partner, Jack McTigue, MD. With over thirty years of experience in the Washington-Baltimore region, Dr. Teller, along with colleague Dr. Stephen Lobaugh offer a wide range of eye care services. Their expertise encompasses diagnosing, treating, and managing eye diseases, as well as fitting specialty contact lenses. Whether patients are seeking an updated prescription, dry eye treatment, or assistance in selecting comfortable frames or lenses, they can trust the unparalleled care provided by Eye RX.

Dr. Teller’s extensive background includes specialized training in both contact lenses and ophthalmic medical care, ensuring he is well-versed in a variety of ocular conditions. His approach to patient care involves accurately diagnosing the root causes of eye problems and developing customized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. 

A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Teller earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1996. His post-graduate training included internships at Hopewell Valley Eye Associates and externships with the National Naval Medical Center and Katzen Eye Group, further solidifying his comprehensive understanding of eye health.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Teller plays an active role in advancing the field of optometry. As a proud member of the National Advisory Eye Council, he collaborates with leading experts to guide the National Eye Institute on the latest developments in vision medicine research and technology. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Scleral Lens Society, reflecting his dedication to ongoing education and professional development. He is a candidate for fellowship for both the Scleral Lens Society and American Academy of Optometry. He is a preceptor for students at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Teller’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed; he is a recipient of the CRCA Top Optometrist Award, highlighting his contributions to the field. Furthermore, he is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a diverse range of patients.
