Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Manju M. John, who serves patients in Middletown, Connecticut.

Dr. John is a board-certified cardiologist, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, who provides experienced inpatient and outpatient care for acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. She serves as Director of the Vascular Section at Middlesex Cardiology Associates in Middletown, Connecticut. 

Middlesex Cardiology Associates is a group of board-certified cardiologists and advanced practitioners, all dedicated to the practice of treating and preventing cardiovascular disease. They realize the importance of building a solid and supportive relationship with patients that is based on confidence and trust. It is their goal to make every patient feel as though they are the only patient.  Additionally, Dr. John is a Senior Attending at Middlesex Hospital where she does clinical consultations, TEE, cardioversions, and stress tests.

After earning her Medical Degree from the University of Kerala in India, she relocated to the United States. There, she served her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where she was Chief Resident. She then went on to complete her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Maimonides Medical Center. 

Among the doctor’s many achievements, she is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. She is also board-certified in adult echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, in nuclear cardiology by the Council for Certification in Cardiovascular Imaging, and in vascular disease by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels.
