Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Bariatric Medicine Specialist Founds Lifelong Wellness & Gynecology, PLLC
Lifelong Wellness & Gynecology, PLLC is proud to highlight its Founder, Dr. Lauren Outlaw, a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Bariatric Medicine Specialist.
Originally from South Bend, Indiana, she has dedicated her life to advocating for women’s health. Raised in a family that valued community service, she pursued a major in Psychology Pre-medicine at Xavier University of Louisiana. Graduating magna cum laude, she became actively involved in various organizations that supported both her college campus and the New Orleans community.
Her medical journey continued at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where a pivotal surgical breast oncology rotation ignited her passion for women’s health advocacy. Witnessing women sacrifice their own self-care for the sake of family prompted Dr. Outlaw to focus on Obstetrics and Gynecology—an area where she could address preventative care and reproductive health throughout women’s lives.
During her residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Outlaw’s rotations took her to Guatemala and Honduras, enriching her medical education with diverse cultural experiences. Following her residency, she practiced in Elkhart, Indiana, where she found fulfillment in volunteer work while also engaging in international missions, including stints in a Burmese Refugee Camp in Thailand with the Shoklu Research Project and with Doctors Without Borders in South Sudan.
Her time at Charles Regional Women’s Clinic in La Plata, Maryland, sparked her interest in Bariatric Medicine, as she observed numerous health issues linked to obesity among her patients. Recognizing the importance of addressing weight management in her practice, she pursued board certification in Obesity Medicine, deepening her understanding of the complex relationship between physiology, genetics, and weight gain. This unique expertise has culminated in the establishment of Lifelong Wellness & Gynecology, PLLC.
On a professional level, Dr. Outlaw is an active member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Obesity Medicine Association.
Outside of her medical practice, she volunteers with her sorority, enjoys traveling, and reading fiction, and cherishes quality time with her family, friends, and her dog, Baxter.
