Highly qualified in the field of radiation oncology, Dr. Heath has been practicing for over two decades at Blue Ridge Cancer Care in Roanoke, Virginia.

For more than forty years, Blue Ridge Cancer Care has helped patients with cancer and blood disorders get the most out of life. As a privately-owned practice of 18 physicians, it serves patients in nine locations throughout Southwest Virginia. The high quality care provided at Blue Ridge Cancer Care includes state-of-the-art technologies and treatments delivered in a compassionate and comfortable setting. 

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Heath serves as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

With years of experience in his field, he is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, which is a not for profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.  

Furthermore, Dr. Heath is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A 1981 graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Heath went on to serve his residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University. This was followed by a residency in radiation oncology at the University of North Carolina.

An active member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the doctor also formerly served as President of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Radiation Oncology. 

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty that involves the controlled use of radiation to treat cancer. It is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer.

Outside of the office, Dr. Heath enjoys working on his farm, skiing, white water rafting, and spending time with his wife and three children.
