Get to know Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Suresh Anne, who serves patients throughout the State of Michigan.
A specialist in adult and pediatric allergy and clinical immunology, Dr. Anne takes special interest in drug allergy, HAE, immune deficiencies, and treatments with newer monoclonal antibodies.
As President of the Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology Center in Michigan, he practices both adult and pediatric allergy and clinical immunology at the Flint office. He is also available to see patients one day a week at the Troy and Midland offices.
Conducting research in the area of stem cells for therapeutic use, Dr. Anne is President & CEO of a Regenerative Cell Research Institute. He is also affiliated with a number of hospitals and medical centers in the area, including Ascension Genesys Hospital, Hurley Medical Center, McLaren Flint Hospital, Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, Beaumont Hospital-Troy, and John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
On staff at Michigan State University, he is an Associate Professor of the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Educated in India, Dr. Anne graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Andhra Medical College in 1981. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at Hurley Medical Center in 1991 and his fellowship in allergy and immunology at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in New York in 1992.
The doctor is board-certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Recognizing his professional achievements, Dr. Anne is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Allergy and immunology involve the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist / immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency disorders.
Dedicated to helping patients breathe better and live better, Dr. Anne has done extensive research regarding immune deficiencies and has written several articles on the subject of AIDS.
He has won several awards during his training in internal medicine and allergy/clinical immunology which include: The sixth prize, Clemens Von Pirquet Award at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American College of Allergy & Immunology, New York City, New York; Winner of Paper Division 1991 Associate Research Competition, American College of Physicians, National Meeting, New Orleans, Louisiana; and The Resident for Most Outstanding Performance, Department of Internal Medicine, Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan.
In his most recent and ambitious project, Dr. Anne is pioneering the effort in stem-cell research to help further the goals in regenerative medicine.
