Dr. Thomas Steineke is a highly experienced board-certified neurosurgeon with over 19 years of expertise in treating complex brain tumors and neurovascular abnormalities in adults and children including skull base tumors, brain tumors, pituitary tumors, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cerebral bypass for Moya Moya, and Chiari malformations.  Under his tenure, Hackensack Meridian Health JFK University Medical Center was recognized by US News and World Report as one of the top centers in New Jersey and nationally as a high performing neurosurgical institute.  Dr. Steineke now has privileges at each Top Neurological Hospital in New Jersey.

Dr. Steineke has led the utilization of minimally invasive and endoscopic intracranial surgery throughout New Jersey. He is a pioneer in the application of virtual and augmented reality technology for neurosurgery.  His work has shown how the application of this novel technology enhances patient engagement, improves surgical preparation, decreases operative time, and optimizes patient care.  As prior Central Region Chair of Neurosurgery at Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Steineke plays a pivotal role in advancing neurosurgical care. He has served as the Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at JFK Medical Center. Dr. Steineke is renowned for his innovative approach to patient care, particularly his use of Virtual and Augmented Reality technology to enhance surgical precision and improve patient outcomes.
