She completed her residency at the University of Hawaii, Kapiolani—Children’s Medical Center, in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1984. Dr. Doane-Wilson has been practicing for more than thirty years. In addition to having a license to practice medicine in Virginia and Delaware, she is also Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, though she has retired from Obstetrics and focuses her practice in Gynecology. Additionally she is qualified in and performs robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery. Gynecologists are dedicated to the care of women and women’s health throughout their lifespan. The combined discipline of obstetrics and gynecology requires extensive study and understanding of reproductive physiology, including the physiologic, social, cultural, environmental, and genetic factors that influence disease in women.
