Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Jason W. Neef, who serves patients in Burleson, Texas.

A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Neef cares for women at all stages of life, including pregnancies and well-woman check-ups. He has been in practice with Texas Health Medical Associates in Burleson, Texas since 2007. He is also affiliated with Texas Health Huguley and Texas Health Mansfield.

Providing excellent medical care and giving clear communication, patients describe him as friendly, direct, honest, discreet, and respectful. He spends adequate time allotted for appointments, allowing complete discussion of problems, healthy/unhealthy habits, and treatment options. He also offers cutting-edge in-office procedures for irregular bleeding and contraception, and remains up to date on training, procedures, and treatment options.

Originally from Midlothian, Texas, Dr. Neef completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He then obtained his medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School. Upon graduation, he returned to the DFW area and completed his residency in obstetrics & gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum. 

Among Dr. Neef’s various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2016, 2020), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2020), and Compassionate Doctor Award - 5 Year Honoree (2020).

On a more personal note, he and his wife, Melissa, sons Luke and Ryan, and daughter, Camryn, reside in Mansfield. In his spare time, Dr. Neef enjoys working in the yard and playing with his kids. He speaks both English and Spanish.
