Thanks for your question. You mentioned your husband had ligament tear with blood in the knee. The repercussions are that the knee may continue to stay swollen and painful. Back in the early days of his academic career, he graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the B.J.Medical College and University of Pune in India. He then went on to perform his residencies in orthopedic surgery at Sassoon General Hospital and University of Pune, University Group of Hospitals National Health Service Trust & Pilgrim Hospital, United Lincolnshire National Health Service Trust.
Having trained extensively in the United States, Dr. Sathe completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston as well as a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock. He also completed a third fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and surgery at Kentucky Sports Medicine Clinic in Lexington.
Listed on Hartford Magazine’s Top Doctors list, Dr. Sathe is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS), a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS), and a member of the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS).
