A native of India, Dr. Amin earned his medical degree from the Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in 2004. Wanting to further his education, he relocated to the United States where he completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2008. He then went on to complete his fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the McGaw Medical Center in 2009, and his fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine in 2011.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in pediatric anesthesiology and anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. A pediatric anesthesiologist is a fully trained anesthesiologist who has completed at least 1 year of specialized training in anesthesia care of infants and children. Most pediatric surgeons deliver care to children in the operating room along with a pediatric anesthesiologist.
