Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Samir S. Al Hadidi, who serves patients in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

An experienced gastroenterologist, Dr. Al Hadidi works with patients at his private practice, Rochester Gastroenterology & Associates, which he opened in 1988. 

Known for his expert knowledge in the field of gastroenterology, he has medical privileges at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, Ascension St. John Hospital, Ascension Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, and Beaumont Hospital – Troy.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Al Hadidi earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Aleppo in Syria, where he was in the top 5% of his class. He followed this up with a surgical externship at the University of Jordan in Amman. 

After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship in internal medicine at Ascension Macomb Hospital (previously St. John Macomb), and finished his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University. Finally, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology with the University of Texas Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Institute.

A member of the American Gastroenterology Association, Dr. Al Hadidi is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.
