Florenda Fortner, MD, obtained her medical degree in 1999 from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She then continued to complete her residency for internal medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and fellowship for geriatric medicine at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. For four years in a row, from 2007 to 2010, the Consumers Research Council of America recognized Dr. Fortner as 'America's Top Physician.' She is a member of the American Pain Society, American Medical Association, Florida Geriatric Society, and American Medical Directors Association. Fortner says providing affordable care and dedication to patient care are instrumental to her success. Today, she practices internal medicine at the Internal Medicine and Clinical Geriatric Center; and Community Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida.
