Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Navid Vassey, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

Taking pride in an empathetic and understanding approach, Dr. Vassey is a board-certified psychiatrist at Integrated Psychiatry in Houston, Texas. 

There, he performs mental health assessments, helps patients manage long-term mental health conditions, offers medical treatment and therapy for a wide variety of psychological disorders, and offers referrals to other medical specialists as needed. He sees patients that are 18 and older for a full array of mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, intellectual disability, and psychosis/schizophrenia. He tailors each individual to a treatment plan that is unique to their specific needs, and offers referrals to other medical specialists as needed.

Graduating with his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, Dr. Vassey went on to perform his residency in psychiatry at the said establishment. 

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Initially working in outpatient community mental health, Dr. Vassey transitioned to inpatient care at the hospital where he treated patients on the psychiatric unit as well as served as a consult liaison on the medical floors and the emergency room. As a result, he has a wide array of experience that can help better treat patients’ needs.

Involved in the mental health setting, he is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

On a more personal note, Dr. Vassey is fluent in both English and Farsi.
