Get to know Family Practitioner Dr. Roset D. Samuel, who serves patients in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

As a board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Samuel has credentials to perform special procedures including colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and cryosurgeries. Currently, she is in practice at Rio Grande Medical Group at Lohman in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Acquired by MountainView Medical Group, Rio Grande Medical Group at Lohman is passionate about providing patients with care in a coordinated fashion.

Professionally, the doctor is also affiliated with MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces. As a community health provider, MountainView Regional Medical Center is a 168-bed facility, accredited by The Joint Commission, that provides a broad range of healthcare services, including inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic imaging, as well as emergency, medical, and surgical care. 

Among her other professional roles, Dr. Samuel serves as the Medical Director of Good Samaritan Retirement Village. She has worked in Albuquerque, El Paso, and Truth or Consequences, as well as Pushpa Hospital and Railway Hospital in India. 

After earning her medical degree from Stanley Medical College in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, she relocated to the United States where she completed her residency in family medicine at Texas Tech University in El Paso, Texas. In 1996, she received the James Jett Award and Best Resident of the Year from the same educational venue. 

Thereafter, she attained fellowship status with the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). She also became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

On the subject of her research interests, Dr. Samuel has done research in the areas of sexual dysfunction, hypertension, and diabetes.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for the entire family. They serve as a doctor for individuals regardless of their age and gender. Patients can be children, adults, and the elderly, and are treated for a wide array of medical issues.
