Thomas D. Gazda, MD, FAPA, is an established psychiatrist and Medical Director of the Sundance Center, now Promises Scottsdale, of Elements Behavioral Health in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Gazda received his medical degree in 1979 at The University of Illinois College of Medicine and then completed the family practice and psychiatry residency programs at the University of Vermont Robert Larner College of Medicine. He studied psychoanalysis through the Canadian Society of Psychoanalysis in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and trained in group relations with the Tavistock Clinic in the United Kingdom. Dr. Gazda is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association and specializes in addition medicine, research psychiatry, bipolar disorders, inpatient care, holistic integrative care, and community mental health. Dr. Gazda obtained a bachelor degree of science in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1975. Dr. Gazda is broadly trained to treat patients from a biopsychosocial perspective with qualifications in family practice, psychiatry, psychoanalysis, neuroscience research as a principal investigator and consultation liaison.
