A skilled obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Juusela tends to patients at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey. He excels in various areas, including robotic surgery, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and the management of conditions such as fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding. With a comprehensive understanding of these specialized procedures, he ensures that his patients receive the most effective and least invasive treatments available.

With a strong academic background, he earned dual degrees in biochemistry (B.S.) and Spanish (B.A.) from Stetson University in 2006 before pursuing further education. Driven by his passion for public health, he obtained a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) and subsequently received his medical degree from St. George’s University in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

During his residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Juusela demonstrated exceptional competence and commitment to his field. His outstanding performance led to him being honored with the prestigious American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Finally, he completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Wayne State University.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in obstetrics & gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is an active member of the American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Medical Association.

As a published author, Dr. Juusela contributes to the medical literature, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the broader healthcare community. His research interests encompass high-risk pregnancy, diseases complicating pregnancy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, and general gynecologic conditions. Through his scholarly contributions, he strives to advance the understanding and treatment of these critical areas, ultimately improving the lives of women under his care.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

On a more personal note, Dr. Juusela is fluent in both English and Spanish, and possesses a basic understanding of French-Creole and Portuguese, further enhancing his ability to connect with patients from different cultural backgrounds and provide personalized care.
