Dividing his time equally as a general neurologist and as a stroke specialist, Dr. Rontal is in practice with Providence Neurological Specialties-East. It is located within Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

In association with Providence Health & Services, he is affiliated with Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Seaside Hospital, Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center, Providence Milwaukie Hospital, Providence Medford Medical Center, Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, and Providence Newberg Medical Center.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Rontal graduated with his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2008. He then went on to perform his internship, residency, and fellowship in vascular / stroke neurology at Oregon Health & Science University in 2009, 2012, and 2013, respectively. 

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in neurology and vascular neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.  

A member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Heart Association, Dr. Rontal served as a volunteer physician in clinics in Tanzania and Peru. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

Happily married with two children, Dr. Rontal enjoys spending time with his family. In addition, he enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking, canoeing and travelling when time permits. A music lover, he studied bass guitar full-time for a year at The Collective in New York City.
