“I completed my transplant surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, so it’s a pleasure to continue working and growing as a surgeon here. I’m excited to delve into more clinical outcomes research to improve transplant surgical techniques as well as expand the donor pool and extend organ preservation. In addition, I welcome the chance to mentor medical students, residents and fellows in surgical and transplant education” expressed Dr. Alebrahim.

A native of Jordan, he earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan Medical School in 2010. He completed his internship at the Al-Hussein Hospital in 2011, and his residency with the Royal Medical Services of Jordan in 2017. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his fellowship in transplant surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2019, with advanced training in abdominal organ transplantation in 2020.

Transplant surgery is where an organ in the body is replaced with an organ from a donor. A transplant surgeon is a surgeon who performs organ transplants. Among the many organs that can be transplanted are: kidneys. livers, hearts, lungs, the pancreas, the intestine (especially the small intestine), and recently, faces, tracheal (windpipe) tissue, and penises.

In his free time, Dr. Alebrahim enjoys watching sports, seeing a movie and spending time with family and friends.
