Get to know Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Faiza Tahir, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

Dr. Tahir is an infectious disease specialist serving patients in the Webster and Baytown areas of Texas. She is a caring and thoughtful medical professional who believes in whole patient care. Not only is she an expert in the treatment of complex infections, she frequently offers advice to local clinics on how to effectively treat complex infections.

Beginning her professional pursuits at Dow Medical College in India, she relocated to the United States where she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Huron Hospital – Cleveland Clinic, and her fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, she is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining membership status, Dr. Tahir is an active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Texas Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Harris County Medical Society.

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, she can be found on staff at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, and Bayshore Hospital. She currently serves as Chair of the Infection Control Committees and Chair of the Antibiotic Stewardship at HCA Southeast.

Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, the diagnosis, and the treatment of all infections. An infectious disease specialist’s practice also consists of managing nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.
