Get to know Family Physician Dr. Daniel Weisel, who serves patients in O’Fallon, Missouri.

Dr. Weisel is a dedicated family physician who offers primary care for patients of all ages. He is in practice with BJC Medical Group at Progress West in O’Fallon, Missouri. He is also affiliated with Progress West Hospital (BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County). 

Among his duties and responsibilities, he provides general medicine services for patients in all stages of life, from pediatric to geriatric care. He offers annual wellness exams for all ages, vaccinations, and physicals for school and sports. Sick patients can visit Dr. Weisel’s office for treatment for acute illnesses such as cough, cold, and flu symptoms, fevers, rashes, and much more. Patients can also visit his office for a variety of outpatient procedures such as splinting of broken bones, abscess drainage, ingrown toenails, and cryotherapy. In addition, his office offers women’s health care services, including PAP smears, birth control consultation, prenatal care, osteoporosis testing and treatment, and menopause management.

A 2017 graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Weasel went on to further his training in California. He completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Stanford-O’Connor in 2020, where he served as chief resident. 

Before long, he attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

In order to stay up to date in his field, Dr. Weasel remains an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Weisel enjoys reading adventure/fantasy novels, and is a baseball and college football fan. His favorite places to vacation are Hawaii and Southern Africa. His favorite professional publications include American Family Physician, The Journal of the American Medical Association, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
