Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Fernando Mariz, who serves patients in New York, New York.

Dr. Mariz is a renowned obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in contemporary women’s health, preventive medicine, pelvic pain, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. His expertise in obstetrics and gynecology allows him to treat all aspects of health conditions ranging from testing and detection of sexually transmitted diseases to family planning.

Currently, he serves New York City’s Upper East Side and Midtown Manhattan at Manhattan Women’s Health & Wellness. Women come to see him for preventive medicine, ongoing health care, periodic examination, and medical supervision. His areas of expertise include female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery with an emphasis on pelvic floor disorders, prolapse, stress and urgency incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, and interstitial cystitis.

With significant experience with medical care for women of all ages, he manages urinary tract complaints, unintended leaking, vaginal dryness, decreased sexual desire, hot flashes, and postmenopausal symptoms in our mature population. In regards to his educational background, Dr. Mariz completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He attended medical school at Poznan University of Medical Sciences, where he earned his medical degree. He then went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Toledo in Ohio.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Bringing his experience and attention to detail to each patient, Dr. Mariz is one of the best obstetrician-gynecologists and gynecologic surgeons in New York City. He prides himself on his bedside manner and diagnostic approach to detect abnormalities in the female reproductive system, including cervical and ovarian cancers. He treats a wide variety of GYN conditions, including: amenorrhea, abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal Pap smear, genital warts, ovarian cysts, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
